Q. What does my username and password give me access to?
Your username and password gives you access to NSW RFS websites based on your role, including FireWeather Viewer, the Common Operating Picture and Collector. You can access most of these through One NSW RFS, the Member Website.
Q. How do I reset my password?
You can reset your password by following the Reset Password on the login page. You will need your username or volunteer number, plus your last name.
If you don’t have these details, please contact your District office, Brigade Captain or Secretary.
Q. How do I choose a password?
As part of resetting your password, to keep your account secure you will need to choose a new password. It is important to remember that the password you choose must by:
At least six characters long
A password you haven’t previously used
If it is your first time logging in, you will be asked to enter or confirm your mobile number or email address. This will be used if you ever need to reset your password.
Q. What do I do if my contact details are out of date?
If you need to change your mobile number or email address, please contact your local District office, Brigade Captain or Secretary who can make the change(s).
Q. I do not have a mobile number. Can I still use an SMS code to reset my password?
If you do not have a mobile phone number, you will not receive an SMS code. If you have a valid email address, you will receive a code by email to reset your password.
Q. I do not have a mobile number or email address. Can I still use the reset function to reset my password?
If you do not have a valid mobile phone number or email address, you will not be able to use this online password reset tool.
You will need to contact the NSW RFS Service Desk and request to have your password reset.
Q. My mobile number and primary email address are up to date and I still can’t reset my password. What do I do?
If you continue to have problems in resetting your password, please contact the NSW RFS Service Desk
Remember your username is not case sensitive and should be entered as one word with no spaces. Passwords are case sensitive.

Q. What if my account is locked?
If you make three incorrect attempts at your password, your account will be locked for 30 minutes. You can wait and try to reset your password after 30 minutes.
Q. What if my username or password does not work with the Welcome Letter received?
You can attempt to reset your password by clicking on the Reset Password link.
Q. What if it has been a while since I logged in to a NSW RFS system?
Accounts will be locked for users who have not logged in after six months, or those who have not logged in and changed their password within one year. To unlock your password, click on the Reset Password link.
Q. What if I receive an error message in my browser?
Close all web browsers and restart with a new web browser or refresh the web browser. You may also need to clear your cache.
